Brussels Clean Festival:
the cleanliness festival in Brussels!
On 21 September, 2024, join us at Place De Brouckère from 11:00 to 20:00 for a festive and family-friendly day dedicated to public cleanliness in Brussels, organized by Bruxelles-Propreté .
On the agenda : fun and participatory activities for children and families; a chance to discover Bruxelles-Propreté equipment with the opportunity to board a truck; concerts and performances throughout the day; an award ceremony for the best public cleanliness initiatives; a cleanliness kit to participate in World Clean up Day; and a food & chill zone.
A festive and educational day to do good for your city and your planet! We look forward to seeing you there, enthusiastic and motivated!

Exhibitors’ Village

Shows
Hop on board the Dragobus and enjoy the performances of the Funky Bodding brass band, Mariska Theatre, Luc Vandermaelen with his daydreams of being a street sweeper, and Max Vandervorst, a musician, composer, and instrument inventor! Check the programme to make sure you don’t miss anything!
Nudge corner
In our Nudge Corner, discover the nudge prototypes (small pushes) created by citizens to encourage good cleanliness behaviour in public spaces. Between 11:00 and 18:00, each visitor can vote for their favourite nudge!

Thanks & Awards
During the Awards ceremony, discover the winners and attend the prize-giving for the best public cleanliness initiatives. Then take part in a festive flash dance to thank all the volunteers.

JALI Closing Concert
To close the event, JALI, a judge on ‘The Voice’ TV programme, will deliver a poignant and colourful performance with his captivating musical universe and his new album ‘Paysages’.

Altitude 76
Altitude 76 is a nonprofit organization based in Saint-Gilles, focused on training citizens through artistic skills and volunteer actions. The organization aims to strengthen civic engagement by empowering residents to improve their neighborhood and community.
Bel Albatros
Bel Albatros advocates for sustainable innovation by creating unique panels from Belgian plastic waste. For this festival, they will make Kapla blocks from recycled waste, offering an experience that highlights the importance of recycling in design and interior architecture.
Bebat
The Bebat stand will offer fun gadgets like pens, glasses, and cubes for collecting batteries, while explaining their ecological mission.
Brussels Compost
Since 2002, Brussels Compost has been transforming garden waste into high-quality green compost. Discover the benefits of composting and learn more about the production process. See how your garden waste can be turned into a valuable product for your gardens!
Brussels Environment
The Brussels Environment stand focuses on public cleanliness in parks, waste reduction, and waste recovery. They will be there to educate the public on easy-to-implement best practices.
City to Ocean
Sign up to pick up litter! City to Ocean, formerly Canal It Up, is dedicated to preserving waterways. Join them on 21 September to clean the Brussels canal: participate in kayaking trips, discover their ecological initiatives, and learn about their waste management projects. Sign up in advance to contribute to water preservation!
Clean Walker
Dedicated to promoting a more responsible lifestyle and fighting pollution, Clean Walker will organize a walk at the festival to raise awareness and mobilize the public for urban cleanliness. Join them to make a difference!
City of Brussels
Participate in activities organized by the City of Brussels. With the ‘Waste Bin’ mascot, educational games on public cleanliness, and presentations of innovative projects, discover how you can contribute to a cleaner environment.
EU4Ocean (REVOLVE)
EU4Ocean Coalition is committed to strengthen ocean literacy across Europe, notably through the #MakeEUBlue campaign. They are organizing a canal clean-up to show that waste, even fa from the sea, eventually ends up in the ocean. Their initiative is a reminder that everyone can take action to preserve the ocean no matter where they live.
Fost Plus
This summer, explore the world of the Smurfs with our VR experience! With Smurfette, learn how to sort your PMC waste in a fun way. Put on a VR headset, sort waste in a Smurf kitchen, and receive explanations for each mistake you make. Fun guaranteed for the whole family!
Keenat
Specializing in the circular economy, Keenat offers solutions for collecting and recycling waste such as cigarette butts, face masks, and chewing gum. At the festival, Keenat will raise awareness about cigarette butt pollution and present practical recycling solutions. Join them to discover how every action can contribute to a cleaner environment!
Repair Together
Since 2013, Repair Together has supported ‘Repair Cafés’ in Belgium, promoting repairs and reuse. At the festival, participate in their workshops to learn how to repair objects and give them a second life. Support their actions and discover how to repair rather than discard!
City of Metz, Guest of Honour
Explore the initiatives of the City of Metz through numerous games on public cleanliness and incivilities. Learn about good practices to adopt with their many personalized board games.
Zéro Waste Belgium
Discover ‘The Zero Waste Showcase’: explore alternatives to disposable items, watch the making of a Tawashi scrubbing brush, and a Furoshiki wrapping cloth demonstration. Receive bulk bags, ‘no junk mail’ stickers, and play the ‘Connect 4 of Waste’ game to become a sorting expert while having fun.
Collaboration between the police zone and the Bruxelles-Propreté research and penalty service
The police and the Bruxelles-Propreté research and penalty service offer you an immersive experience in analyzing crime scenes related to urban incivilities and illegal dumping in the streets of Brussels. Discover how law enforcement investigates these offences and what each of us can do to prevent such harmful behaviour. A unique opportunity to better understand the challenges of urban cleanliness and public safety.

Participating in World Cleanup Day
The date, 21 September, was not randomly chosen: it is also World Cleanup Day, a global initiative that brings together citizens for waste collection activities.
So the Brussels Clean Festival invites you to participate in this citizens’ initiative, by lending you a cleanliness kit, which includes a vest, gloves, and a bag. You will then be able to clean up your area, street, park or anywhere else that you would like to tidy up.

The 'Continental' will be running the bar at the Brussels Clean Festival, in a charming setting with its own terrace.
The Waffle
They offer sweet and savoury Liège waffles with artisanal chocolatey toppings, as well as ice creams and savoury toppings like ham/cheese and salmon/guacamole. Their partner, ‘Concept Chocolate’, is ethical and committed to protecting the environment.
Los Hermanos
They sell home-made empanadas with 5 flavours, including vegetarian and vegan options, and offer their own sauces.
Solidarity Food Truck
This solidarity foodtruck fights against food waste by transforming unsold food into tasty dishes, in collaboration with social restaurants.
